Now that I’m finally sitting down to write this post… I’m wishing I ‘d written it BEFORE we knew we were moving. Cue the tears!! The Taylor’s are one of the first couples we met after moving to Raleigh. We instantly became friends and have shared so many sweet memories together over the last couple years. I’ve had the pleasure of capturing photos for them several times and always enjoy it. From practicing film photography, to gender reveals, maternity portraits and now a BABY lifestyle session in their home in Raleigh.
We’ve walked through so much including pregnancy and welcoming our baby boys into this world just two weeks apart. I’ll never forget telling Jaclyn we were pregnant. It went a little something like this… (she just announced her pregnancy to me two weeks prior). That morning I said, “Hey Jaclyn, when are you due again?” She said October 23… I said, “oh ok… so I’m guessing I’m due about 2 weeks after you.” She was so confused, it was hilarious ;)! Finally she said Wait, What?? Are you pregnant? Followed by lots of hugs and praises!
We journeyed through pregnancy and millions of texts checking in and asking if x,y & z were normal… we celebrated at baby showers and then here came Caden! The sweetest ball of chunk you’ll ever see!! He is making his special debut today :). Now our conversations go a lot like this, “How long is he sleeping?… How much does he spit up?… Is it normal that ____ happened? …Should I be concerned that his poop is X color?…” New Mom texts are quite entertaining to say the least.
All that to say, The Lord has richly blessed us with the Taylor’s friendship and I know that it won’t die just because we’re moving. I’ll be honest, I started typing a sad paragraph about how I always pictured our boys growing up together in Raleigh and deleted it because it was just too much for me :(! I can’t end with that! Jacyln & Matt, thank you for welcoming us to Raleigh so well and being some of the best-est friends we could ask for. Thank you for always being so open and authentic. Thank you for your servant hearts and contagious joy! You two are somethin’ special and you’re doing a GREAT job as mommy & daddy to sweet Caden! Absolutely loved capturing this joyous season for you and you better believe this won’t be the last photo session we do! Love you guys!!
…. and I leave with the cutest photo of our boys… Haddon normally tries to hold Caden’s hand LOL. How sweet are these two together?! All the heart eyes!
