If there is one thing that I LOVE most about moving to Asheville it’s bringing my job here! It’s honestly terrifying moving your business to a new city. Yes, I grew up in Asheville and spent most of my life here but most couples that get married in Asheville actually don’t even live here. Asheville is a destination spot for so many of my wonderful couples! I think only 2 of my Brides for 2018 actually live here. I wasn’t sure what to expect when we relocated back to Asheville in March of this year. Everything was going great and my business was thriving in Raleigh. I felt like I had to start over completely but photography here has succeeded beyond my wildest expectations! Not only are things going really well but I get to photograph beautiful couples on incredible mountain tops like Black Balsam Knob!
When I spoke with Lauren on the phone I knew she would be such a joy to work with and I’m so honored she hired me to capture this special season in her life. Her and Bryan met while in Asheville where Bryan played soccer and they fell in love with the mountains! It made perfect sense to do their engagement session at Black Balsam where they have hiked many times! It was a VERY chilly day but Lauren was a champion and you’d never know she was shivering in between shots :)! While Bryan may love their dog more than Lauren (jk… ok, maybe not 😉 ) … it’s clear that he is head over heels for this girl and I LOVED the way they could make eachother laugh the entire session. I personally love chilly shoots because it makes for the sweetest cuddling photos! Oh and I almost forgot the sweetest part… Bryan had Lauren’s ring custom designed with the diamond from her great grandmother’s ring making it all the more special!
I am so excited for their wedding in May at The Cliffs.. I can hardly wait! 2018 is going to be an incredible year with so many sweet couples!
