Raleigh Engagement Photographer

I met Kira and Stephen at Bond Lake Park in Cary, North Carolina for their dreamy engagement session. We originally scheduled their e-shoot for the day prior but it was nasty out – gloomy and rainy. Thankfully we were able to move their session to the next day and the weather couldn’t have been better, especially for the month of January! It was sunny and rather warm allowing for the perfect glow at sunset, just the way I LOVE my portraits! Seriously though, a beautiful sunset makes my heart so happy!! You know what else I love? SNOW! Yes, that’s right, snow! Currently sitting on the couch cozied up with a fluffy blanket and a fire going. I could say that I have warm cup of coffee to make that statement more cliche – but I don’t. Just hot tea and honey to help cure this cold Mitchell managed to give me. I spent last week cleaning and disinfecting the whole house but I still managed to catch it. Whatever. I’m gonna milk this up just like he did ;). Payback! hehe

One of my favorite things about living in North Carolina is experiencing all four seasons. If I had to pick a favorite season it would be Fall – pumpkin spice latte’s, boots and flannel, duh!! BUT it never fails, as the next season approaches I’m anxiously ready for it to arrive!! Now that we’ve received our big snow for year – next week my mind will be set on Spring and wedding season!! But for now, snow and a little bit of an off-season before the crazy-ness starts. 🙂

Ok, I derailed a bit due to my excitement for the weather… back to this sweet couple!! Kira and Stephen live in Atlanta but are getting married in Raleigh, NC this July since this is Kira’s hometown. I’m so excited to capture their wedding day at the Mim’s House! The Mim’s House is a breathtaking, white mansion with a romantic and timeless setting filled with modern grace and style. Did I mention it’s WHITE? I think I speak for all photographers when I say a room filled with white is our dream!

When I first met Kira to chat about her wedding, over coffee of course, one of her questions was, “How do you make all of your couples look so natural in your photos?” She said she wasn’t good at taking pictures. Well, all my brides tend to say that and I always come to the same conclusion after the engagement session. They’re all liars! Haha! Kira and Stephen were seriously naturals. They seamlessly fell into every pose I put them in and even made up their own. I had the best time with Kira and Stephen at Bond Lake Park over the weekend and I’m so excited for their wedding so soon!! Enjoy these dreamy portraits as you sip your coffee on this glorious snow day!! XO
