April showers bring May flowers… that’s supposed to make all of this rain better, right? As a wedding photographer this rain is really interrupting my schedule these days. The forecast will say 80% chance of thunderstorms for the entire day and then it doesn’t even rain. Or you have weeks like this one – where it literally rains every single day. Blah! Thankfully, I only had to reschedule this session once. I met Kristen and Robert just outside of their home where tons of amazing photo opportunities were upon us. I LOVED the pond and bridge we shot at for a while. We also used this gorgeous walkway (below). It had amazing composition and really fit their outfits well. We even used one spot in order to get a nice green background and truth be told – they were standing right in front of a sewer. I’m pretty sure at one point Kristen said “I can’t go too far, there is a sewer behind me!” – haha! I explained I just wanted to get some portraits with the green background. Kristen and Robert were GREAT! They trusted me completely (even if I had them stand in front of a sewer ;)). When Kristen went to change into her second outfit I asked if I could take her ring to photograph (I was waiting for this moment the moment I met Kristen!). She said of course and also brought me the pretty blue box it came in. I had the neighborhood kids concerned as I was laying in their front yard taking a million photos of this stunning ring. I could here the little voices as they rode their bicycles by the house, “I think she is a photographer?!” – It was cute and I was in the zone, just casually laying in the front yard. Whenever my clients trust me is when magic happens!
Robert and Kristen were so easy going and so relaxed during their engagement session. They only had one request and that was for me to make them look good! haha! Well, of course. That is my job! Only, I seem to be super blessed with the most beautiful couples because what they don’t realize is I’m just capturing the true beauty and genuine love that is already there. This couple, they are so giddy in love and it really shows. They recently bought their first home together and their wedding is set for this July in Athens, GA at the Botanical Gardens. Everything is sinking in for them both. During an outfit change, Kristen looked at me with her glowing face and said, “Wow, this is all feeling so real now!” Engagement photos will certainly make this dream you seem to be living a reality. Wedding planning goes by extremely fast and before you know it you are exiting your wedding day under sparklers or bubbles, the day you have been planning for so long (probably since you were just a little girl). I try to remind all of my couples to just relax and take it all in. These moments don’t last forever. The beauty of it all? After your wedding is when the fun really begins. Marriage is the sweetest blessing and being able to come home every night to that one person you choose to spend forever with. Now that is the real celebration. Kristen and Robert, I am so happy for you guys and truly honored to be your wedding photographer. I can’t wait to capture your wedding day this July!! xoxo
