Ashley and Bobby, Chestnut Ridge Wedding

Well, after about a 6 months hiatus from blogging and now being at home all of the time, I thought it would be appropriate to start blogging some beautiful 2019 weddings! I truly love blogging weddings and sharing the story of each day. However, with two little ones at home and trying to be both full time photographer and mommy – some things just get put on the back burner. I hope that I can share several weddings throughout this time at home with you all!

Today, I’m sharing Ashley and Bobby’s August wedding at Chestnut Ridge Events in Canton, NC. Ashley and Bobby make their home in Chicago and decided to have a destination wedding in the mountains – I’m so glad they did! These two have incredible taste, as you’ll see in all of the amazing details — but more than that — they are madly in love and have the sweetest love story. One of my most memorable moments from their day was their First Look. They wanted to do it on top of a mountain in private. Bobby anxiously awaited his bride, she took his breathe away, and they read the most thoughtful letters to each other. I love that they allotted extra time before the ceremony for a first look and portaits – making the day run so smooth and less rushed. We spent a good 30 minutes with just the two of them taking portraits, followed by meeting the bridal party to dig up the bourbon! This tradition involves digging a hole and burying a full bottle of bourbon upside down. Doing so is supposed to ward off rain on the wedding day! This certainly worked in their favor as the weather couldn’t have been more perfect :)!

Their ceremony was outside on the patio at Chestnut Ridge joined with all of their closest friends and family. I’m still trying to decide who stole the show — their dog Cooper, their precious nieces and nephews, Ashley’s adorable grandpa or Ashley as she walked down the aisle ;)! There was so many sweet moments in that one ceremony. Tears were flowing and joy filled the air.

The evening continued with a cocktail hour overlooking the mountains, a dreamy reception , delicious food, heartfelt toasts and lots of dancing! We snug away for some really cool night shots and the night didn’t end there. Ashley and Bobby exited their wedding to sparklers and fireworks! It truly was an incredible day and I’m so honored to share more with you today!
